Players at this world class standard are all renowned for their quality of tone. You simply do not win these events unless you have “the sound”. Against vintage sets from the turn of the century and other modern makes Strathmore Bagpipes have produced that sound.
In 2010 Patricia and Murray's daughter Faye won the Highland Society of London's Gold Medal at the Argyllshire Gathering on a full set of Strathmore bagpipes, with Henderson Reedmakers reeds. Aged 18, Faye became the first female in history to win the Gold Medal.
MURRAY DESIGNED AN INSTRUMENT OF THE HIGHEST QUALITY TO BE PLAYED AT THE PREMIER SOLO EVENTS.
SINCE THEIR CREATION, MURRAY HAS PLAYED A FULL SET OF STRATHMORE BAGPIPES IN EVERY COMPETITION.
